London- Paris Excursion
Leg 1- London: June 25, 2007
First day there and jet lagged, we took a walk around where we were staying in Belgravia, London. After a meal at a pub called Albert's, we found these sites.
Westminster Abbey
Then off early the next morning, June 26th to the British Museum. This roof is great but it does leak. The food court below was where we really began to feel the strength of English pounds. It cost about 10 pounds to share a lunch and each have a coke. This translates to more than 20 dollars. That's just a sample. A bottle of coke normally cost more than 5 bucks after the conversion!
The museum claims to have obtained many of these egyptians things when they put Napoleon out of commission. This temple was actually moved and rebuilt inside the museum.
One hop on the tube and we arrived at Trafalgar Square. This is the National gallery behind me. Which is also part of Trafalgar Square.
Then we went across the river to the Tate Museum of Modern Art
The Black Friar's BridgeOn the 28th we went to Westminster Abbey in the morning and had these views along the way.
